Those looking to save money on their home best stay away from Kensington and Chelsea, according to a recent survey by a high-street lender.
Halifax revealed that the most expensive residential street in the UK was the Vale in Kensington and Chelsea had the average house price of £4,677,500 based on housing transactions between 2004 and 2008.
It added that the second and third-most expensive were Ingram Avenue in Barnet and Cottesmore Garden which is also in Kensington and Chelsea, with the average place costing £4,465,000 and £4,288,125 respectively.
Furthermore, 25 of the top 50 streets in the poll were found in Kensington and Chelsea, with Panorama Road in Poole costing the most for a homeowner living outside the capital, where people are expected to pay £4,158,333.
Earlier this month, Halifax revealed that house prices had declined by 2.2 per cent in October, adding that housing affordability had improved significantly over the last few months.
